What a cleaning actually includes

There's a version of this job that takes twenty minutes with a leaf blower and leaves your beds covered in muck and your downspouts still packed. That's not what we sell.

Hand-clearing every run

Gloved, bucket in hand, working the full length of every gutter, including the low-visibility back runs and second-story dormers most crews skip.

Flushing every downspout

A clear gutter feeding a blocked elbow is still a wet foundation. Each downspout gets hosed until water runs free at the bottom, including buried lines to the street or drywell.

Debris hauled off, not bagged in your bin

Ten pounds of wet oak sludge leaves with us. Beds, walks, and patio get rinsed before we pack up.

A look at the whole system while we're up there

Loose hangers, separated joints, rot at the fascia, pitch running the wrong way, flagged with a photo. We note anything that needs a specialist and tell you straight.

Photos from the roof

Before and after, every elevation, texted to you the same day. You never have to take our word for it or climb a ladder to check.

Connecticut Timing

Two windows a year. Miss them and you pay for it.

Fairfield County's tree mix, white oak, sugar maple, hemlock, eastern white pine, fills gutters on a predictable calendar. Here's the one we book against.

Typical timing for southern Connecticut, by species, not a measurement of our own call-outs. Oaks spike twice, in May and again through November; white pine casts its old needles in October; hemlock drizzles all year; shingle grit never really stops. Line them up and the two booking windows pick themselves.
Late May – June

Spring clean

Oak tassels, maple samaras, and pollen mat into a felt layer that holds water all summer. This is the cleaning most homeowners skip and shouldn't.

July – September

Storm season checks

Hurricane-season downpours and coastal wind find every weak hanger and blocked elbow. Worth a mid-season look on shoreline homes.

Early Nov – Early Dec

Fall clean, the critical one

After the oaks finally let go, before the first hard freeze. Debris left in a gutter in December is the ice dam you fight in January.

Jan – March

Thaw response

Ice-damaged runs, torn hangers, downspouts split by freeze. We work through the winter when it's safe to be on a ladder.

What Skipping It Costs

A clogged gutter is never just a clogged gutter

Four failures we get called about every year, all of them cheaper to prevent than to fix.

Fascia & soffit rot

Water standing in a full gutter wicks backward into the fascia board. By the time paint bubbles, the wood behind it is gone, and the gutter has nothing sound to hang from.

Ice dams

Debris holds meltwater at the roof edge where it refreezes. The dam grows, backs water up under the shingles, and shows up as a ceiling stain in February.

Foundation water

An overflowing gutter dumps hundreds of gallons at the foundation in one storm. On the county's clay-heavy soil that's a wet basement, then a sump pump, then a footing drain.

Landscape washout

Sheeting water strips mulch, carves channels through beds, and undermines walkways and patio pavers set along the drip line.

How Pricing Works

Priced on your roofline, not a guess over the phone

Four things move the number, and we can read all of them off aerial imagery before we ever pull into your driveway:

Linear feet of gutterThe base of every quote.
Stories & roof pitchThird-story and steep slate need more setup.
AccessDecks, hedges, stone walls, and tight lot lines slow ladder work.
How long since the last cleanThree seasons of compacted debris is a different job.

The quote you get is the price you pay. If we open something up and find a problem, you get a photo and a call before any extra work happens, never a surprise line on the invoice. Our full cleaning rates and worked examples are published, down to the price per linear foot.

What Moves The Number
Quoted off your roofline, not a script.

We read linear footage, story count, pitch, and access straight from aerial imagery of your address, then price it. That is why most homes never need an on-site visit, and why the number you get is the number you pay.

Cleaning Questions

What homeowners ask us

Do I need to be home?

No. It's all exterior work. We text on arrival and send photos when we're finished.

Will you get on my roof?

Only when it’s safe and appropriate. Slate, cedar shake, and steep pitches get worked from ladders, never walked.

What about the gutters over my deck or sunroom?

Included. Awkward-access runs are exactly the ones that get skipped and then fail — we plan for them in the quote.

My downspout goes underground. Can you clear it?

We flush and test buried lines as part of the visit. If one's blocked or collapsed we'll show you the photo and talk options.

Do you clean gutters that already have guards on them?

Yes. If you already have guards, we remove them as needed, clean underneath, water-test the run, and put your existing guards back. We do not sell or install gutter guard systems.

What if it rains on my scheduled day?

We move you, usually within a couple of days. Wet ladders aren't worth it, and light rain is actually a great time to spot overflow points.

What does gutter cleaning cost in Fairfield County?

Four things set the number: total linear feet of gutter, how many stories and how steep the roof is, how hard the runs are to reach, and how long it has been since the last cleaning. We read the first three off aerial imagery of your address, so most homes get a firm price without a site visit — and the quote you get is the price you pay.
