What gutter cleaning actually costs here
Most Fairfield County homes land between $185 and $400 for a single cleaning. We price it the same way every time — linear feet of gutter, multiplied by a rate set by how high off the ground the work is. Below is the whole formula, the rates, and five worked examples.
One rate per house height. That is the whole price list.
There is no residential tier, no premium package, and no seasonal surcharge dressed up as a service level. A gutter thirty feet up takes longer to work than one ten feet up, so it costs more per foot. That is the only variable in the base price.

You know your square footage. Here is the conversion.
Homeowners know square footage and almost nobody knows their gutter footage. Multiply your square footage by 0.10 for a single-storey ranch, 0.085 for a cape, or 0.075 for a two-storey. A colonial sits on roughly half the footprint of a ranch of the same size, so it has less gutter, not more. Add about 30 feet for an attached garage.

The minimum charge rises twice during the season. It is capacity, not opportunism, and the mechanism is specific enough that we would rather publish it than be asked:
Sunset drops by roughly an hour overnight. A crew that could work until six is done by five, and ladder work in poor light is not work we will do.
Demand arrives in the same week the working day collapses. Every gutter in nine towns fills at once, and there are fewer hours in which to empty them.
A compacted, saturated leaf pack has to be broken up and lifted out by hand. The same house, same footage, genuinely takes half again as long in late November as in early October.
The per-foot rates never change. Only the floor moves — which means a larger house priced above the minimum pays the same in December as in September.
If your house prices above the minimum, timing costs you nothing — book whenever suits. If it prices below, the September and October window is the cheapest it will be all season.

We measure it properly on arrival, and the price does not move unless the measurement does.

The minimum rises to $225 on 1 November and $245 on 1 December, and it is capacity rather than opportunism. Daylight saving ends on 1 November and sunset drops by an hour overnight, so the working day shortens exactly as Fairfield County foliage peaks in the first week of November. Wet compacted leaf debris also runs one and a half to two times slower to clear than dry. The same house genuinely takes longer and there are fewer hours to do it in. Booking in September or October is cheaper, and that is the whole reason we publish the dates.
Yes — $1.65 per foot against $1.25 for a single storey. It is ladder work at height, it takes longer, and it carries more risk. A steep pitch of 8/12 or greater multiplies the labour by 1.25. Three-storey work we quote by hand and never automatically, because it is not a job anyone should price from a form.
Nothing that we would normally do anyway. Flushing every downspout, hauling the debris off your property, rinsing the beds and walks, and before-and-after photos from the roof are all part of the price. A downspout that needs breaking down beyond a normal flush is $45. Roof surface debris blown off is $95. A detached garage is $65 and a screened porch or sunroom run is $45.
