Terms of Service
The ground rules for working together: how quotes and pricing work, what happens when weather moves your day, what we're responsible for, and what we're not.
Last updated 26 July 2026
Who these apply to
These terms apply between GutterRenewCT Gutter Cleaning Service, a d/b/a of HomeRenew LLC ("we," "us"), and you, the property owner or authorized representative, when you request a quote through this website or hire us for gutter cleaning or downspout and drainage work. Your signed or accepted written quote, together with these terms, is our agreement. Where the two conflict, the written quote controls.
Quotes and pricing
Quotes are free and are based on the information you give us plus publicly available aerial imagery of your roofline. A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.
The quoted price is the price you pay for the work described. If we arrive and find conditions materially different from what we quoted — significantly more linear footage than the imagery showed, a third story we didn't know about, structural damage hidden behind the gutter, or access that makes the job substantially longer — we will stop, photograph it, and contact you with a revised price before continuing. Nothing extra gets billed without your approval.
Any figures on this website describing typical timeframes, payback periods, or comparisons about cleaning cadence are general illustrations, not a guarantee about your property.
Scheduling and weather
We work from ladders, so rain, ice, snow, lightning, and high wind will move your appointment. We'll tell you as early as we can and reschedule to the next workable day, usually within a few days. Spring and fall book out fastest; storm damage and active leaks take priority over routine cleanings. Dates are targets, not guarantees, and we're not liable for losses caused by a weather delay.
Access and your property
You don't need to be home — the work is entirely exterior. You do need to give us safe access to the perimeter of the building. Please make sure gates are unlocked, vehicles are clear of the drip line, and dogs are inside on the day.
By hiring us you confirm you own the property or are authorized to approve work on it. For condominium and association properties, you're responsible for making sure the work is authorized under your association's rules.
Scope of work
We do what your quote describes. Our standard cleaning includes hand-clearing accessible gutter runs, flushing and testing downspouts, hauling debris off the property, and rinsing beds and hardscape below the work area.
We are gutter contractors. We do not perform roofing work, walk roof surfaces that can't safely bear it — slate, cedar shake, and steep pitches are worked from ladders — and we don't excavate or replace buried drainage lines beyond flushing and testing them. Where a job needs a roofer, mason, or excavator, we'll tell you plainly.
Pre-existing conditions
Gutters fail from the inside out, and some damage only becomes visible once debris is removed. Rotted fascia, corroded or split aluminum, failed sealant, and hangers already pulling loose are conditions that existed before we arrived. We'll photograph anything we flag what we see and quote additional work if needed, but we aren't responsible for pre-existing damage or for a gutter, fastener, or fascia board that fails during normal cleaning because it was already compromised.
Warranty
If something we installed or repaired fails because of how we did it, we come back and correct it at no charge.
A cleaning is a point-in-time service. It doesn't warrant against debris that falls after we leave — which in this county is a matter of days in late October.
Storm, ice, wind, and falling-limb damage; work altered or serviced by someone else; damage from failure to maintain the system; and pre-existing conditions described above.
Tell us about a warranty issue as soon as you notice it so we can look at it before it becomes something larger.
Payment
Cleaning work is invoiced on completion and due on receipt. Late balances may accrue a reasonable service charge. If a payment is returned unpaid, you're responsible for any bank fee we're charged.
Cancellation
Cancel or reschedule a cleaning or repair any time before the crew is dispatched and there's no charge. For installation work, we'll refund a deposit less the cost of any material already cut or fabricated to your roofline, since custom-formed gutter can't be reused. Connecticut law gives you additional cancellation rights on some home improvement contracts; those rights are stated on your contract and nothing here reduces them.
Limits of liability
We carry general liability insurance, and the technicians we schedule carry their own coverage, which we verify before any work is performed. We'll send certificates on request. If we damage something, tell us and we'll make it right.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost rental income, temporary accommodation, or similar. Nothing in these terms limits liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that can't be limited under Connecticut law.
This website
The content here — including our advice on seasonal timing and cleaning cadence, is general guidance about gutters in Fairfield County, not a professional assessment of your specific property. Only a quote gives you that. Text, photographs, and design on this site are ours; please don't reproduce them without permission. Submitting the quote form doesn't create a contract until we send you a quote and you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, and any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts serving Fairfield County. If any provision turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force. We may update these terms; the version in effect when you accepted your quote is the one that applies to your job.
Ask before you book. We'd rather explain it up front.
